September 2009

So after our crazy July, and summer in general, August was a bit less chaotic, allowing us to take care of a long-outstanding to-do item--our master closet!

So without further ado, here are the before and after pics:

Closet before... Closet after!
Closet before... Closet after!
Closet before... Closet after!
Closet before... Closet after!

Basicaly, we ripped out the built-in wooden structure, painted, and installed a new system from The Container Store that we bought with our wedding money. We also bought new clothes hampers and streamlined our hangers to be all white. Scary, huh?

What we still have left to do is rip out the carpet and install laminate dark wood floors to match the dark wood facing on the shelves.

What else did we do in August?

Well, JC's sister, Zera, and her two children Immy and Colton came out to visit for a week or so, which was great because we had not seen them in a couple of years.

Both of our hockey seasons ended, in overtime losses. Go figure!

Lastly, we saw three concerts:

  1. JUDAS PRIEST - oh my gosh they totally rocked! For being rock stars for as long as I've been alive, they were spectacular and in tip-top shape and sound! I highly recommend seeing them even if you're not a huge fan.
  2. DEPECHE MODE - wow, totally incredible this was as well! While the guys do look a bit older, they were still full of energy and the show had a great vibe. They did a great mix of songs, had some amazing lights and video effects, and even changed up some of the songs to give them a new sound and feel.
  3. RICHARD CHEESE AND LOUNGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - Richard Cheese is a Vegas lounge singer who does lounge-sounding renditions of famous pop and rock songs. The audience was quite eclectic and a bit annoying, but Richard and his band were great. You could recognize the songs right away, but they were done in such a casual and relaxed way that they were hilarious!

Time for Fall and Football! Go Penn State!
